About You

Q. What will be important to me as a hot tub owner?

This is the most important question to consider. Most of our customers want a hot tub for relaxation, enjoyment, therapy and good times.

A good salesperson will speak to you about Comfort (seating and quality of massage), Clean water (filtration, circulation and proper water care), and Service (Warranty and service commitments).

If someone is talking to you about "number of jets", "horsepower of the pump", or other bells and whistles - they are focusing on the things that will help them make the sale, not the things that will help you have an enjoyable experience for years to come. Jacuzzi is a name that you can trust. The Jacuzzi family invented the Hot Tub Industry over 50 years ago and is still the same cutting-edge company today. Jacuzzi History

Q. What are the benefits of owning a hot tub?

Hot tub owners experience numerous benefits. A hot tub is good for the mind and body and also provides time for family, romance and relaxation. Having a personal spa is like having a 20 minute holiday on a daily basis. For all of the health benefits, please see our Health Benefits section.

Q. I have friends with a Hot Tub that just sits in their backyard, un-used. Why do Jacuzzi owners use their tubs so often?

The most expensive thing you can own is a product that you don't use. The main things that keep people from using their hot tubs are a lack of comfort, poor water condition and high maintenance. Prestige hot tubs and Jacuzzi ensure that you are getting the tub that best fits your needs for all of those things.

Many Jacuzzi owners use their spas in the evening, before bed, relieving tired muscles and aching joints, preparing the body for a deep sleep. Jacuzzi Hydrotherapy helps people relieve aches and pain. Our related customer testimonials. Spas are great for the family. Parents spend quality time with their children in their hot tubs. Prestige Hot Tubs customer 7 day/week customer support make it easy to keep your water beautiful and in your tub all the time, instead of worrying about it.

About The Tub

Q. Why do Hot Tub retailers talk about horsepower? How much Horsepower do I need to make sure I get a good massage?

The "horsepower" issue often misunderstood. Horsepower does not equal a good massage. A firehose has some serious horsepower, but if you stand in front of it, it will not give you a good massage. A good massage is dictated by a hot tubs ability to generate water volume. Water volume equals power. A hot tub with a powerful pump and an inefficient plumbing system won't produce the volume you're looking for. Jet placement within the plumbing is also important. Plumbing that puts jets in a straight row along a plumbing line will probably give you unequal power to each jet. Plumbing with proper jet clustering and the right pump size will give you the most efficient type of water volume and flow.

Don't take any salespersons word for it, the only way to know what kind of massage you are going to get is to feel the jets when the tub has water in it. Better yet, try the spa before you buy. Look for air and massage controls. These selectors should be easy to reach and you should be able to customize your in-tub experience. The feel and end user experience is far more valuable than 'HORSEPOWER'

Q. Why is a full-foam insulated spa better than one that's not?

Common sense will tell you when an insulated spa has benefits. There are three key advantages to a full foam insulated tub.
• It keeps the heat in, just like why they use insulation in houses. You would never buy a house without insulation.
• It gives you a much quieter experience by reducing the noise of the equipment in the spa.
• It supports your hoses and plumbing. This keeps your entire plumbing system secure secure, reduces vibration, which minimizes stress on the plumbing fixtures during transit and use.

Q. What should I look for in a warranty? Who takes care of me if I have an issue with my spa?

This should be one of your top 3 considerations when buying. A hot tub is a lot like a vehicle; but if something goes wrong, you can't just drive it to the mechanic. You need to trust that the dealer who sold you the tub will take care of you. Make sure that your investment is fully protected for a good length of time. Good manufacturers and retailer will have every part of your spa covered, from the shell and plumbing to the electrical components. Make sure that the warranty is NOT prorated. Make sure that service and labour are included under the Warranty terms.

Q. Why would I want Blended Synthetic siding?

If you have seen a cedar hot tub, you probably remember it looking 10 years old after 2 years. Vinyl siding will also fade over time. Jacuzzi's pro-endure cabinetry will keep your Jacuzzi looking new 10 years into the future. Pro-endure cabinetry eliminates the need for regular staining and sealing of wood surrounds. Quality manufacturers do make synthetic skirting with the look and styling of real wood

Q. How much will a new hot tub cost?

Hot tubs usually range between $5000 and $17,000. Keep in mind that you can get a good quality product or a poor quality product within these prices. Because a hot tub is an investment in you - health and mind, make sure that you only buy the best quality hot tub that fits your budget. You should expect to buy ONE hot tub that will last you 15-20 years. Think about the long-term. Buy something with value, quality and reliability.

Q. Is any special plumbing required for my spa?

If you choose to purchase an above ground portable spa, there is no plumbing required at all. You simply fill the spa with a garden hose, and drain it when it needs to be drained. The unit is entirely self-contained.

Q. What kind of foundation do I need for my spa?

A hot tub requires a level surface that is constructed to bear the weight of the spa when it is filled with water. You can use a concrete pad, brick, Jacuzzi spa pads, or wood decking (with reinforce joists) If you are worried about your foundation or location for the tub, speak to the builder or contractor, or schedule a free site inspection with Prestige Hot Tubs (free inspection registration)

Q. What type of electrical necessary for my spa? How much will it cost?

It's very important that you contact a licensed electrician or contractor when planning for the electrical set-up of your spa. Prestige Hot Tubs strongly encourage using our recommended electrician. You can book in a free site inspection and have our electrical contractor tell you what you need.

The cost for your electrical set-up is dependent on your specific situation. Variables involved are the length of the electrical "run". If you do not have a designated circuit available, one will need to be installed. Another factor is the materials involved to complete the job. Your best bet is to us Prestige Hot Tubs recommended electrician.

Questions After Buying

Q. How much will it cost to run and maintain my spa each month?

The answer to this question really depends on the type of spa you purchase, and how you use your spa. Your cost of operation includes:

Electricity:
Energy Consumption - Jacuzzi Premium J-345 (we might want to axe this) Average Yearly Temperature for Vancouver 11.25° Celsius
UsageMonthly KWh UsedMonthly CostDaily Cost
30 min. every day356 kWh$26.48$0.93
30 min every other day210 kWh$15.80$0.55
20 min every other day156 kWh$10.48$0.41
Keeping the tub to temp. only64 kWh$5.12$0.17

Monthly and daily costs are calculated based on 8 cents per kilowatt hour. Kilowatt usage is based on a Jacuzzi Premium J-345 hot tub (240-volt, 30-60 amp.) set at 102° F. Costs will vary based on usage, ambient temperature, local kWh costs, user selected set temperatures and filter cycles.

Chemicals Costs: Your chemical expenses will be based on the following:
1. The type and quality of chemicals you buy for your tub.

2. Frequency of use. How often you use your spa and how many people will be in it.

3. If you use an ozone system to help sanitize the water.

4. Whether you use Natural water care or mineral purifiers

Q. How much time and work is it to take care of my hot tub?

After Prestige hot tubs has delivered and set up, you can maintain it in just a few minutes per week. Taking care of your tub requires testing the water on a frequent basis, and following your water care program provided by your dealer. Prestige Hot Tubs provides you with a free water care orientation in your home at the time of installation. You can also use our (regular maintenance program link)

It is recommended to drain your Jacuzzi once every 3-12 months depending on usage. This only takes a couple of hours and is very simple, just follow our guide. You should clean your filters about once a month. Again, it's a simple process that should take less than an hour, or you can utilize Prestige Hot Tubs free filter washing service.

Q. Can I get a chemical-free system?

There is no such thing as a "chemical-free system." You can choose to use alternative methods like mineral purifiers over standard methods such as bromine or chlorine. It is important that you use some type of water sanitizer. It is the only thing that is keeping your water safe to use.

WARNING! Do not be fooled by the promise of a chemical-free "salt water system". It is actually a sodium chloride or sodium bromide system that will possibly damage your shot tub's plumbing components and will cost you 6-10 times the amount to operate. These are challenges that may not be mentioned by some sales people.

Q. How do I take care of my Jacuzzi when I am out of town or away?

It is very simple. Ensure there is some sanitizer in your water before you leave town. Your pumps will cycle on automatically, filtering the water and your spa will require no daily care. For extended periods of time, contact us at Prestige Hot Tubs, we can take care of you with our (spa maintenance program ) - link

Q. How often should I drain my tub?

The only way to really tell if your water needs changed is to bring in a sample to your dealer for testing. As a general rule, it's a good idea to drain your spa about once every 3 - 6 months depending on usage. Remember clear water and chemical usage depend on how often you use your spa, and how many people use it. It also depends on how well you maintain your water's chemistry using chemical additives. If your water becomes cloudy, or if you're not getting the crystal clear water you desire through chemical maintenance, you may want to drain your water
